It's my birthday month!!! 🥳

I flippin' love October and not just because I get to scoff loads of birthday cake, but because I'm an autumn girl.

Autumn brings out my inner child, I splash in puddles, hunt for conkers, jump in leaves (for once not caring what people think). It brings out my calm side too, snuggling under a blanket, crocheting with a cuppa and binge watching Gilmore Girls.

I always thought Autumn just brought out the best in me, but I think it actually comes down to being kinder to myself around the time of my Birthday. I always had a habit of neglecting my self care because I felt guilty, it felt selfish, so my birthday month was always a great excuse to be a little kinder to myself and enjoy the things I love.

Thankfully, I now understand that self care is not selfish. It makes you a better person, and as creatives we need moments of play and rest to refuel our creativity.

Despite my now year-round self care, I still use October as my 'reset month'. I spend a couple of weeks doing what I love and enjoying autumn to the fullest. So I'll be a bit quiet on here over the next few weeks, but I'll be back in November, older, possibly wiser and with plenty more tips and tricks to help you in your photography business 📸
